In this fine weather it is easy to get the fan out and move the breeze around the room but in the end it isn't cooling the room, all you are doing is moving the warm air around. It might make you feel a bit better but you aren't getting any cooler!
Now, this isn't my idea, believe it or not it was my accountants idea, but a good enough one to share!
Get a two litre fizzy drink bottle - empty of course - and fill with water - do not overfill, allow room for the water to expand as it will when you put it in the freezer. Yes, indeed, put it in the freezer and allow the water to freeze, or nearly freeze if you get impatient.
Place the bottle in front of your fan and the air will cool as it is blown past the bottle and provide you with cooler air. Have a second bottle in the freezer ready for when the first one defrosts!
Simple!
