Well, sort of.
With work & home being on the same premises it is actually quite hard to stop working altogether!
Each day, including Christmas Day, I read emails, and yes someone did send me a work enquiry on Christmas Day - I didn't answer though! On Boxing Day we had pre-set a sale on eBay, but I wasn't happy with the description, so popped over there and amended that.
Today we sold panels on eBay, so maybe those change of words helped, so I will try and organise the shipment of the panels, even though the courier companies are on part-time shifts with no guarantees of next day deliveries.
Today, I will also answer that Christmas Day enquiry, but that is about as far as it goes.
We still have guests staying with us, and that includes grandkids who need entertaining, and they require time.
If you have an enquiry best send a message via the website - I'll be bound to pick it up!

It's still business as usual though!
There's me rabbiting on about grandkids, gardening & networking.
Not talking much about business or our products, nor trying to sell stuff, but isn't that what life is all about, getting that work, life balance sorted out. I will admit to being quite lucky in that I have it sorted better than some, but I have worked hard in the past with that aim of achieving a better balance as I get older.
Business has been quiet!
Although our winter has broken all sorts of records, most windy, wettest, most floods, it hasn't actually been cold. Selling infrared heaters in that sort of climate is quite tough. Unlike last winter when we we're still struggling with snow on the ground, this winter hasn't produced a real frost in these parts!
Approaching our quietest period, spring & summer, now is the time to embark on new websites, new strategies, new branding, and yes, we have already started this process, so watch this space as we say, because things are changing!
All we hope is that next winter is just a little bit colder :-)

We are off away on a business trip!
I have been here in North Devon for nearly 11 years now, and as time goes by I lose my interest in travelling! In corporate life I have been lucky to travel to many parts of the world, Nigeria in Africa, Singapore & Malaysia in the Far East, Colombia in South America, Mexico & the USA to name just a few! Day trips to many European destinations & frequent trips around the UK!
Holidays to Malta, to Greece, Spain & Tunisia all add to the many countries I have visited but now I find a trip down to Exeter, just over an hours drive away, just doesn't have the excitement it once did!
Today though, I am off up to Aberdeen for a few days!
It's a business trip & I have a busy schedule - as well as a ToDo list as long as my arm, I also have to keep up with the day to day stuff that needs to happen in my office!
Once upon a time I used to really enjoy this, now I find it a chore!
Still, it helps to pay the bills I guess!

Multiheat goes networking!
It is very easy when you work for yourself to become quite insulated from what else is going on out there in the real world. For me, that is the main reason I go business networking. To actually meet up with other business folk & to chat about - well - business things!
I'm not a great one for formal networking - you know, the stuff where you get up early for breakfast and have to do a 30 second elevator pitch as a way to introduce yourself to everyone around the table - apart from anything else, getting up to go out for breakfast is a problem as I have my "farm" role to do before work & breakfast tends to happen around 10am, and for another once you have introduced yourself to everyone around the table, they have all made up there minds they don't want what you have to sell and don't talk to you anymore anyhow!
So, I go out to lunch once a month with the North Devon Business Alliance - nearly always the last Friday of each month (December is the normal exception for obvious reasons) - where we have an informal gathering of chatting to everyone who turns up, sometimes there are only 6 or so of us, other times nearly 20, sit down for a nice lunch, swap stories, swap business cards as appropriate, more chatting after lunch and then home!
I find it a very good way to unwind from the pressures of being on my own most of the working month, and very occasionally I even get some business from it too!
Do you go networking, if so, what do you aim to get out of it?
