Feel the warmth in the sun?

Do you?

The sun provides us with natural infrared warmth. Now that we are well and truly into spring it is surprising how quickly we notice the warmth.

Infrared as we know is part of the light spectrum and it is the part beyond the red part of the visible spectrum that makes us feel war. From the near infrared that still gives off an orange glow and quite a fierce feeling of warmth, all the way to the far infrared that gives off no visible light and a much gentler feeling of warmth!

As you may know my company "Multiheat" sells infrared panel heaters and these panels give off the far infrared and gives us this nice gentle feeling of warmth!

Very energy efficient too!

It's still business as usual though!

There's me rabbiting on about grandkids, gardening & networking.

Not talking much about business or our products, nor trying to sell stuff, but isn't that what life is all about, getting that work, life balance sorted out. I will admit to being quite lucky in that I have it sorted better than some, but I have worked hard in the past with that aim of achieving a better balance as I get older.

Business has been quiet!

Although our winter has broken all sorts of records, most windy, wettest, most floods, it hasn't actually been cold. Selling infrared heaters in that sort of climate is quite tough. Unlike last winter when we we're still struggling with snow on the ground, this winter hasn't produced a real frost in these parts!

Approaching our quietest period, spring & summer, now is the time to embark on new websites, new strategies, new branding, and yes, we have already started this process, so watch this space as we say, because things are changing!

All we hope is that next winter is just a little bit colder :-)

The grandkids have worn me out!

What a pleasant day out, or at least it finished pleasant as the early morning animal rounds were done in the drizzle & rain!

Having completed those, I had to rush off to the vets to get this chap sorted!

He had to have staples removed a wound to his leg & what a well behaved chap he was!

Then it was mucking out duties, chicken coops, lamb shelters & goat runs! The new lambs run was extended & fresh grass made available, as well as a new gate so they can get into their new field once they are fully weaned!

A trip into town to get the llamas some grub, lunch for ourselves and then a few hours planting potatoes, sowing runner beans, French beans, peas & Brussel sprouts!

Al in all a busy day!

What do you get up to on your weekends?

The grandkids have arrived!

Oh yes they have!

Gran has been away three days covering for mum while she was away on a course, leaving me home alone to look after the farm, and she has come home bringing the grandkids with her!

We have a few plans for the boys, most of it involves being outside & getting dirty, from planting seeds (runner beans, French beans and peas to name a few) to cutting grass, to cleaning chicken coops out, and playing in the tree house!

When they come down and see us, they rarely watch TV or play on computers, reminiscent of my days as a boy! All we really need is some dry weather, no fun getting cold & wet!

That's me, I'm talking about!

It's Friday - the last Friday of March!

I like the last Fridays of each month. For me it's networking & a wind down day!

The North Devon Business Alliance have their monthly lunch - www.ndba.org.uk - and most months it is at the Chichester Arms in Bishops Tawton, just outside Barnstaple! A small group of attendees 6-8 people, often with different or new people there each month, have a chance to have lunch, create business relationships and discuss work issues that affect us all!

So, that's what I'll be doing today, once I've sorted my ToDo list out which thankfully is quite small today! If you are based in North Devon maybe you would like to join us one Friday, get in touch & I'll give you the details, or check out their website!

Can I get my Oomph back?

I spent a lot of time in 2013 getting my blog up & running. For some reason, around the end of November last year, I lost the Oomph - I admit I had a holiday in early December & maybe that had something to do with it, and here we are some 4 months later and I am trying to get the enthusiasm to start blogging again on a regular basis!

I guess I have done it, with some help from a few blogging friends, as this is my first blog of 2014!

So, here's  looking forward to entertaining you again, both in talking about infrared heating, as well as the trials & tribulations of running your own business.

We have had a few business issues recently, nothing major but enough to give us plenty to think about. We are hoping we have identified the problems and are working through the resolutions which we hope will make us stronger going forward!

Our main problem though was the weather - while wet & windy it wasn't really cold & when you are selling heaters, it helps to have cold weather. Here's looking forward to next winter.

:-)
