What the frack?

Fracking is the new kid on the block - what is it?

According to Wikipedia it is "Hydraulic fracturing is the fracturing of various rock layers by a pressurized liquid."!

Today I spotted on the Telegraph website the following headline "Fracking will mean lower energy bills, Cuadrilla vows"

What it means is that they have found a supply of gas that has not been considered viable to extract before that can now be mined (if that is the right word) and introduced to the market to keep the supply of gas going for a lot longer than originally thought, and in the short term it will mean lower prices for gas! There will be a wait until 2016 but it has to be good news for consumers who are already hooked into gas for central heating boilers and for cooking!

However, that shouldn't stop people from continuing to look for efficient electric solutions, and with the continuing support for solar and wind farms to produce electricity, electricity will remain a competitive alternative!

Check out infrared facts on our website HERE! A different alternative!
