It's because people want to speak to a real person - have someone answer the phone and then the person calling has to leave a message - it's amazing how many small businesses just don't see that!
I use B My Office based in Barnstaple to answer my phone - incoming calls are set to be re-directed if I am engaged or if I do not answer the phone - and this last week they have taken at least two orders and saved at least one other enquiry going elsewhere - it works!
I called two businesses earlier this week, one phone just rang forever & the other had an answer machine - I wanted something in a hurry so I rang someone else - two businesses there that didn't get my business because they didn't have someone there to answer the phone!
It's not expensive and it sure pays for itself! Give Stacey or Jess a call on 01271 344545 - they're great people to do business with (I'm sure I've heard that somewhere before).
