One of the downsides of improving the energy efficiency of your home is the upheaval - we are having a biomass boiler installed along with a few of our own infrared panel heaters!
Today it is the electricians turn to cause havoc! Not really, but it is best to keep out of the way as floor boards are pulled up to lay new cables for the installation of the panels - always best to have it done professionally and in any event we need to ensure we get the appropriate certificates to show potential buyers of our home that the work was done according to the latest regulations! Not that we are planning to move any time soon, but nevertheless best to get the paperwork sorted now!
We are having a few zone panels put in - one in the kitchen which is our main living space, one in the bathroom (a nice mirror one there) and one in the spare bedroom/office - all of these panels will operate separately and not in conjunction with the central heating but will enable us to heat a single room without turning the main boiler on which will heat the whole house.
This should save us quite a bit of money over a year particularly as we work from home and these chilly June days - yes June days, like October out there it is today - when we could do with a little bit of warming up, we do not want to put the central heating on!
Check out our website HERE for more information on how to use infrared panels in your home!
